Mrs. Dr.Wiebke Janssen is the new head of Moritzplatz Document Centre, sponsored by “Bürgerkomitee Magdeburg e.V.” . Motivated by positive reports in the local newspaper “Magdeburger Volksstimme“, we contacted Mrs. Janssen to ask her to give a presentation to our students.
Her dissertation titled “Teenage yobs and beatniks in East Germany of the 50s”, gives an ideal piece of authentic information to modern day history lessons today. The new guide lines of our state require the teaching of exactly that time and aspect of German history in the classroom.

Communicating and Debating properly have become key skills in our modern days. What is most decisive here is to express convincing arguments in the debate.
This year`s debating competition, held in our school on March 2, saw junior and senior students on stage to discuss different given topics such as “Should students be allowed to informally address their teachers (by their first names)” or “Should radio stations stick to a mandatory ratio of German/international songs”.

What a stormy affair at our school last Tuesday! Pawns, Queens and Kings hid behind massive Rooks, being attacked by aggressive officers on foot and horseback. Whereas some attacks were successful, others needed clever tactics to turn the tables on the enemy. What was going on?

Following an old tradition, there was another volleyball tournament at our school on December 3, 2016. Our invitation was accepted by students`and teachers`teams of BbS Otto Schlein, BbS Hermann Beims, BbS Eike von Repgow, BbS Haldensleben, BbS Burg as well as the last cup winners from MSV Börde.

A group of 8 carpentry and surveying students is travelling to Lucé, France, on 13 November 2016 in order to gain work experience. They will be accompanied by Ms. Graf, Ms. Höfler, Mr. Grebarsche and Mr. Unger who are taking turns in escorting the group.
